Being a wizard student is dangerous. There are few activities they can partake in that don’t come with a chance of death. Dueling involves no protection as far as I can tell. The students blast each other with spells without any armor or automatic shielding. In fencing, they are covered from head to toe, and I’m pretty sure that their weapons aren’t designed to fatally penetrate. And Quidditch? Don’t get me started. They are flying around at 40 mph, thrusting themselves head first into brooms, and they do all of this while 20 stories above the ground. Not a safety net. Ground. And other players are literally trying to knock people off their brooms. That would be like if I had a sport where I let lions chase a group of kids, and then I had other people trying to shoot out the kids’ legs.

No wonder Neville loved herbology.

This, I believe, was the 2nd strip Mike and I worked on, meaning we created it back in February. I say all this because I JUST noticed I forgot to color in the quidditch player's boots. XD

Maybe they're like Harry's invisible cloak? ;)

I'm a beater too... but don't tell the authorities. *badoom tisssh* :P

Seriously though, i wouldn't know how to react if i were ever told i looked like a beater. Insulted, in the sense that you look like you don't have a shread of class? Or confident in the sense that you don't look like you take shit from anybody, not even your wife? Don't answer that... :S

I like how the beater "KEEPS" shattering his pelvis. As in MORE THAN ONCE.

I like the implied danger of Herbology. All Potter fans know just how dangerous those classes are.

@Shaman- haha. I play on a Quidditch team and our beaters are all different sizes...and classes.

@Jon- Yea, he's either very good or very terrible.

@MattsSmirk- That is the secret understanding that bonds all wizards.

I'm sure there are cushioning charms on the ground, Mike. I mean, Harry falls fifty feet and only breaks one arm. It's just that no-one told him that, and/or he's not observant enough to notice.

...your sound theory makes me angry.
