I am currently sitting in the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 with The Group That Shall Not Be Named, waiting patiently for the final film to start. (If anyone's reading this who's there, please shout "Thornsaddle!!!" I will love you forever.) And this is after dueling lessons in Central Park, a picnic and reading of Deathly Hallows, and a few HP-themed shots at some bar. After the credits roll on this film, I will still be looking forward to more events, more parties, and meeting more amazing people.
This fandom is more than the movies. It's more than the cosplay and more than the fan fiction. It's more than wizard rock and more than even the books. It's the people. The people you've met and the relationships formed that will last a lifetime. I know my life would be much emptier without you all. Each and every one of you. In no way is this fandom dead or dying. It's only getting stronger. The experiences I've had as being part of this fandom/movement/whatever you want to call it have been the best of my life.
I know that later in life, when I look back on my time spent with you all, I will fondly remember that "all was well."
And in case you missed it, this comic is a special midnight release. We also released our regularly scheduled comic at 7am that day. So if you missed it, click "previous" up above.
Easily the best movie of the series, which isn't that much of a compliment. But seriously it was really really good. Very fast paced and full of action. The most enjoyable by far.
Is it bad that I missed most of the film because I fell asleep in the cinema. Woke up to, uhh, Snape's desth I think and the nerdiest of my friends sobbing.
Is it bad that this means I've seen none of the films in their entirety?
Hey- I did love the books.
(not commited enough for proper fandom/nerdiness) did anyone shout thorndale?
The films are pretty skippable for the most part. Most are not very good. No one shouted "Thornsaddle". But then again, I didn't expect anyone to check the site on their phones 5 minutes before the movie started.
